A spectacular flat tire on our trailer way in the back where we don't see or feel things while we're driving along

While in the swamp, we rented a boat to go search for alligators. Hannelore had some reservations ...
... but we did find one!
We also found some turtles sunning themselves
We went to Charleston, South Carolina, and toured the Historical District ...
... and then on to Beaufort where the south is still alive and well ...
... and then to Parris Island to check on troop readiness as fresh recruits got to know their drill instructor
We also toured historic Savannah, Georgia ...
... as well as a National Wildlife Refuge which was once an Air Force training airport in the coastal marsh area
We visited the smallest church in America ... It has seating for twelve ...
On Jekyll Island, in Georgia, we visited the "cottages" of the super-rich who used to gather there in the early 1900s
We went to Anna Maria Island which is at the mouth of Tampa Bay ...
... and walked on the beach of this lovely, but hurricane vulnerable, area
Over on the other side of Florida, we stayed in a campground just south of Cape Canaveral where cruise ships came in and out daily, going right by our RV park
We spent a day at another National Wildlife Refuge, in the Cape Canaveral area ...
... where we saw more alligators ...
... and more ... about 35 altogether
Hannelore got to know some of the local sea birds
Back on the west coast, we spent a weekend on the island of Tierra Verde, near St. Petersburg, visiting friends from Wisconsin who have a condo there
Finally, back on the east coast again, we went to St. Augustine where there is a wonderful old fort still guarding the harbor
