Starting Out in California
Ready to hit the road
There are really no great places to stay on I-5, the main north-south artery tying California together, but we finally did find an RV park
Nearing Palm Springs on I-10, we stopped to walk under the freeway through a storm/flood tunnel. The tunnel also happens to be the way to cross busy I-10 used by the 2,650 mile Pacific Crest Trail which runs from the Mexican border to the Canadian border through California, Oregon and Washington

After two nights in Palm Springs we headed out
We were still getting used to living a our trailer again. The trailer reminded us that we need to close all the cupboard doors before pulling out

We came up with the idea of driving halfway across the state of California on an old dirt road, but after a few miles of driving alongside this canal, we decided it might be more than we could handle with our trailer in tow, so we turned around and went back ...
