Eastern Europe
This is the old town of Tallinn, the capitol of Estonia.
About 10 a.m. the next morning, it was off to Riga, Latvia ...
Lunch on the bus as we moved along ... We tried to spend our nights in hotels which offered breakfast as part of the price. We carried a small food box with us to make lunches along the way. Typically we had butter, cheese, sausage and marmalade in the box, along with a loaf of bread in Hannelore's large purse. This was not only a great time and money saver, but also gave us a chance to see lots of local shops and markets as we stocked up every 2-3 days.
Riga ... the down town area ...
... followed by a tour of the Old Town ...
This piece of art work, depicts a famous Grimm fairy tale, The Bremen Musicians, about a donkey, dog, cat and rooster ...
We encountered a small number of beggars on the trip, in almost every major city.
A lovely dinner in the Old Town.
The next morning we took a long walk through a big park in the center of Riga. Unfortunately, for some reason all those photos disappeared from our camera
There were two of these spooky structures in the field outside our hotel room, each about the size of a card table. If anyone knows what they are, please email us!
After settling in, we took a trolley to the center and toured the Old Town ...
